Zakat and Sadaqah-e-jaria

Sadaqah Jariyah

Sadaqah Jariyah is a long-term kindness that accrues ongoing reward from Allah (SWT). The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: “When a person dies, all their deeds end except three: a continuing charity, beneficial knowledge and a child who prays for them.” ( Muslim) This hadith clearly states that wealth has no value in the life hereafter, isn’t it  good  on our part to barter our wealth for forever rewards from Allah (SWT).

Can Zakat be given on days  other than Ramzan

The answer is Yes, no doubt Ramzan is the blessed month when the good deeds are multiplied several times however it is also necessary for the zakat donors to disburse zakat to the eligible persons or families  during emergencies, wars or famines. These days Education has become an important factor in social-economic development of Muslims so continuous funding of educational needs of the poor Muslims could carry enormous benefits not only for the receivers of zakat but also for the donors of zakat charity (In the form of recurring rewards from Allah (SWT)

Your Zakat charity becomes Sadaqah Jariyah at Al Amaan Education and welfare Trust

At al Amaan Education and welfare trust your, zakat fund also becomes Sadqua–e-Jaria (The charity that continues till the day of judgement), let us elaborate on this: The zakat charity received by Al Amaan educaton and welfare trust is spent not only on food and accommodation of the Trust’s old age home inmates  and the inmates of the orphanage  (school for the blind and deaf)  but also on clothing, education, skills development training and scholarships for the poor Muslim students, while the food is considered one-time fulfillment of the need, the expenditures incurred on education and skills development training provide life long economic and social support to the poor Muslims. As long as these zakat charity beneficiaries are benefited by the education, skills training, and scholarships the Sawab-jaria will be credited to the zakat charity donors. When  these zakat beneficiaries become self sufficient, entrepreneur, or skilled ones they start providing financial and educational support to the needy Muslims, this the process continuous perennially.

Sadaqah Jariyah for departed souls

Those whose parents and  elders are no more can spend on Sadaqah Jariyah in the name of their parents and elders, it is the best way to pay our reverence to the elders who toiled day and night for us. Many philanthropists and businessmen have stablished endowments in the name of their elders (Late). The funds derived from these endowments are spend on awarding  scholarships to the needy Muslims.

Islam has exhorted Muslims to pursue education and embrace Entrepreneurship. Prophet (May Peace be Upon Him) laid more emphasis on doing business, because the business not only brings prosperity to the community but also provides ample employment opportunities for the members of the community. Al Amaan Education and Welfare trust is forefront in provided education support to the Poor Muslims in the form of scholarships, the trust also conducts Job skills training for the Muslim boys and girls at no cost, to help them become  Entrepreneurs.
